What We Do
The Okemah Community Historic Foundation
This Organization shall be known as The Okemah Community Historic Foundation. The Okemah Community Historic Foundation is a nonprofit Community Organization and is not organized for the private gain of any individual(s).
The Okemah Community Historic Foundation is organized exclusively for the purposes within the meaning of section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 2021.
The purposes for which this organization is formed are:
A. To perpetuate the History of a community, “Gone but not Forgotten.”
B. To heighten the awareness of the Cultural contributions of the Okemah Community.
C. To organize and plan fund raising activities to support the organizations purpose.
D. To grant scholarships to graduating high school seniors who are Okemah descendent.
Mission Statement
The Okemah Community Historic Foundation’s primary purpose is to promote the history of Okemah
- By engaging in historical studies documenting the area’s people, culture, community life, and institutions.
- By dissemination of oral printed, media information on Okemah.
- By encouraging genealogical tracing and documenting the families who settled in Okemah.
- By encouraging individuals and/or their heirs to share knowledge and experience of Okemah.
- By involving individuals and organizations in collaborative activities of promotion, research dissemination of the history of Okemah.
- By organizing reunions and other meetings of community members and interested parties.
